People on Plains Blog Series – Meet Linda from Salon & Spa at LaSalle!

We asked a few questions to learn some history and to get to know her business better.

Why did you choose Aldershot for your business?

I applied for the position as hairdresser at LaSalle, before the building was even finished, and since I was coming from Waterdown, I knew that a lot of clients would follow us to Aldershot.  And to be honest, it is a very nice area and I knew the location was perfect .

What sets you apart from all the rest?

We specialize in dealing with seniors, not to say that we do not welcome anyone, we have a younger stylist that loves creating very trendy colours, but Patti and myself shine with seniors.

What is your specialty product or service?

First of all, very easy access to our salon, wheelchair friendly, free easy parking. Secondly, we do a ton of roller sets, perms, colours, a lot of regular ladies come weekly and it is a very friendly salon, everyone gets to know each other pretty quick, it reminds me a bit of the salon in Steel Magnolias, a great movie if you have never seen it.

I think the speciality, besides the making it easy for seniors is a reasonable price for an excellent hair experience.

What do you love about Aldershot and what is YOUR favourite business to visit in our BIA?

I love that Aldershot still has a small community feel, a lot of people know each other, a lot of our residents from LaSalle chose to live here because they have lived their whole lives in the area, that is a great testament to this community.

I love going to my favourite all day breakfast place, Russell Williams, they know my name, and always make me feel at home. Of course, the Home Hardware across the street makes things super easy for me to get whatever I need, Fit for Life makes me feel better in so many ways.

What would you like the Aldershot community to know about you and your business.

I would like the community to know that we are a warm and welcoming salon, we provide excellent service and we know a lot about hair, a lifetime of experiences, and we show great respect for anyone that walks through our doors.
