We are thrilled to present this beautiful piece created by Vivian Rosas through the STEPS Program – I HeART Main Street Challenge grant.

You can see the mural at 15 Plains Road West (Fitness Firm) and enjoy as it hangs on the west facing wall. Special thank you to our Sponsor for making this possible – Kelvin Galbraith Ward 1 Councillor & the Aldershot Village BIA!

We LOVE how Vivian has captured the ever changing landscape of Plains Road, our history with the Dairy Queen, the business mix, shopping, cycling and general enjoyment that our community of Aldershot brings.

About Vivian Rosas: Vivian Rosas is a Toronto-based queer, Mestizx/Latinx multidisciplinary illustrator, dancer, and muralist. Feminism, empowerment, and diversity are recurring themes in her work. Her goal is to create imagery that expresses a sense of inclusiveness for underrepresented communities.

“Through I HeART Main Street, a program that supports BIAs across Ontario to celebrate local culture, foster vibrant spaces, and support main street recovery through public art initiatives and paid artist opportunities, we’re excited to partner with Aldershot Village BIA to transform an under utilized space into a giant canvas for new artwork that the local community can enjoy for years to come.”

I HeART Main Street is presented in partnership with RBC Royal Bank and the City of Toronto, and generously supported by Canada Healthy Communities Initiative funded by the Government of Canada, Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council, Ontario Trillium Foundation for activations in Peel Region, and funding provided by the Government of Ontario.
