Meet Heidi Moniz – Aldershot Foot Clinic
To celebrate International Women’s Day the Aldershot Village BIA is shining a light on some of our Women owned businesses along Plains Road. It is a day to celebrate women’s achievement, raise awareness about discrimination and take action to drive gender parity.
We are thrilled that this group of women owned and operated businesses have chosen Aldershot for their business. They are mentors, changemakers, trailblazers and community givers.
What brought you and your business to Aldershot and Plains Road?
When I decided to open my clinic, I knew I needed to choose a location that had a growing adult and senior population, as well as being accessible to them. Ideally, it also had no other foot care clinics nearby. I chose Aldershot as it met these criteria and because I really felt a sense of community when exploring the area, which is so important to me. I wanted to be a part of something special and Aldershot definitely provides that sense of inclusion.
Do you have a female mentor or partnership and what has that relationship meant to you?
I cannot choose just one person who has been a mentor to me. I am lucky enough to be surrounded by many women who are inspirational. Teachers, other nurses, entrepreneurs, etc. A few of my close friends are also small business owners and having a support group of women who are going through the same process of small business ownership at the same time has been invaluable to all of us.
Do you have any advice for the younger generation of women coming up as entrepreneurs and small business owners?
My advice would be to learn as much as possible. Listen, watch others, take courses, and be open to new avenues and ideas.
