Team Burlington and
Burlington Economic Development some of our Aldershot BIA members have been able to take advantage of Digital Main Street and the Digital Service Squad! We are proud to spotlight their success.
As of March 22nd 2021, we are happy to announce that the Digital Service Squad program has been extended and will continue to service Burlington businesses for the coming months. However, no new grant applications will be accepted at this time.
The Squad will continue to conduct its first complimentary audit of your digital presence, and then help you develop a Digital Transformation Plan.
DSS services can include:
- Training you or your staff on a basic website build.
- Improving your existing online presence (through a Google My Business account, Social Media channels, 360º photos and more).
- Introducing you to Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) techniques.
- Setup of E-commerce, Point of Sale (POS) and Customer Database programs.
We are delighted to continue our work with Burlington small businesses, and activate various digital marketing tools for businesses to target new audiences and markets.

“We applied for the Digital Marketing grant through the OBIAA (Ontario BIA Association) we wanted to expand our online presence and didn’t know where to begin. As with most businesses through Covid, we didn’t have a lot to spend on this task, so we thought this was a perfect initiative to apply for. We are very happy that we did!
The DSS, Ferene, along with DMS partners, have helped us with our website, learning how to do engaging posts on multiple platforms, using post designing programs, helped with learning how to plan our marketing campaigns efficiently, set us up with behind the scenes programs like mailchimp to help track our customer base, among many other things. A team from Digital Main Street even referred us to a digital consultant which we have hired and will begin working with shortly, to help us understand the “customer journey” and fine tune our recently developed digital skills in order to grow our business.”

Digital Service Squad SPOTLIGHT on The Fitness Firm.
“The Digital Service Squad helped me with re-visiting my marketing plan and strategy/ ideal client and developing a plan to create a marketing digital video. After a thorough strategic brainstorming session, Sharon developed a script and got me in touch with the video company. We met 3 weeks later to lm the video. The video is currently in development.
I found the experience to be amazing. Revisiting my marketing goals was refreshing and motivating. Sharon was fabulous as was Julie from Untangled Digital which is the video production company.
