People on Plains Blog Series – Meet Marleen from Basketful Boutique!
We asked Marlene a few questions to learn some history and get to know her business better.
Why did you choose Aldershot for your business?
We bought a work/live unit in 2014 as I had planned to open up my shop when I retired from Bell Canada. We have always lived in north Burlington, but love the Aldershot area.
What sets you apart from all the rest?
In our area there are not many if any personalized gift baskets shops, and I have also added apparel and home decor and you can’t beat my prices!
What is your specialty product or service?
My specialty is personalized gift baskets, mostly one of a kind!
What do you love about Aldershot and what is YOUR favourite business to visit in our BIA?
I love Aldershot because I feel like we are in our own little community, out of the hustle and bustle and there are so many beautiful areas to discover. My favourite business would have to be Ye Olde Squire. Love their salads!
What would you like the Aldershot community to know about you and your business.
What would I like the community to know. That even though my hours are limited, I am available at anytime to service the community as I’m only 16 steps down to the shop, that I’m in my own little world when making up baskets. It’s always been a passion for me. Once a customer has been into the shop, they seem to love coming back. Just a very friendly environment.
Thanks for having us Marlene!
