People on Plains Blog Series – Meet Heidi and her team from Aldershot Foot Care Clinic & Mobile Services!

We asked Heidi a few questions to learn some history and to get to know her business better.

Why did you choose Aldershot for your business?

I chose to establish my business, Aldershot Foot Care Clinic, in Aldershot because it is a vibrant and growing community with a large population over 50, which is our target demographic, and this area has a high demand for foot care services. I have also found Aldershot to be a beautiful town with wonderful people.

What sets you apart from all the rest?

We provide foot care in many different facets. We provide nursing foot care both in-clinic and in-home to increase accessibility for patients, especially in these difficult times. We serve our patients in their homes, hospitals, long term care centres, and retirement homes with our Mobile Services. 

What is your specialty product or service?

We provide Medical Nursing foot care, and our specialties include:

  • Nail trimming/filing
  • Corn and callous reduction
  • Ingrown nail treatment 
  • Wart treatment 
  • Nail bracing
  • Diabetic assessments
  • Medical and non-medical compression socks/stockings (measurements available in both our in-clinic and in-home services)
  • Diabetic socks
  • FootLogix cream
  • Toe separators 
  • Reflexology: Our Reflexologist Sue has been serving her patients for over 20 years and is a member in good standing with the Reflexology Registration Council of Ontario (RROC).
  • Pedorthist: Brad is our Certified Pedorthist and he assesses patients’ gait, range of motion, and biomechanics to create custom-made orthotics as individual as our clients’ needs.

What do you love about Aldershot and what is YOUR favourite business to visit in our BIA?

I love that Aldershot is a community within a city. The inclusivity and kindness of the people, the parks, and of course our wonderful patients.

My two favourite businesses in Aldershot are Aldershot Dental Hygiene, because of their customer service and attentiveness, as well as Sue Thompson, an RMT who is professional and gives fantastic care.

What would you like the Aldershot community to know about you and your business.

We love what we do! Our nurses are caring, compassionate, and attentive. We hold ourselves to the highest health and safety standards, and we specialize in lower limb medical care.
