Beautifying Plains Road at the storefront level.
The Aldershot BIA is working to enhance Plains Road by supporting local business members with storefront improvements. We’re here to help with beautification upgrades or repairs that elevate the look and feel of your space.
While Plains Road is in flux and properties are continually being developed, it is difficult to beautify the street and bring it together. Helping to beautify storefronts by offering an incentive from the ABIA will alleviate some stress on the business members who don’t have any extra dollars for this type of work.
Timing:
Business members are encouraged to apply to the Keep Aldershot Beautiful Fund to obtain funds to achieve this work. This work must be completed in 2026.
Community Investment:
This fund will focus on your storefront specifically. Examples of what the beautification incentive could be used for would be landscaping, flower beds, planters, paint upgrades, door upgrades, window decor or newly upgraded signage.
We will continue to offer an accessibility incentive at $1500 for a business that will add or upgrade the accessibility at their business. Examples would include but not limited to a ramp or hand rails.
Application:
Application and proposals must describe what work you would like to do and provide examples of how it would look and upgrade your space. An estimate of total costs should be included to complete your project.
Partnerships:
The ABIA encourages recipients to make use of other Aldershot businesses to do the work. Please reach out to see if we have the business, you are looking for in our BIA. Ex. Landscapers, Sign Shops, Garden Centres.
Business members chosen to receive this incentive will get their $500 or $1500 upon proof of project with receipts and photos of before and after.
There will be 4 beautification incentives available at up to $500 each and 1 accessibility incentive available at $1500 and the ABIA understands that this may not cover the whole cost of your project, it may just be a helping hand.
These projects will be highlighted on the ABIA website along with our social media channels.
Only exterior or storefront work will be considered for the $500 incentives and the $1500 accessibility incentive may include inside work. This opportunity is open to business members only and lucky recipients will be notified by May 31st.
